Saddleback Valley Trails

Vol 6 No 5 Editor: Pat Weeks May 1999

South Orange County California Genealogical Society

P. O. Box 4513, Mission Viejo, CA. 92690

This is a very unusual newsletter. As you know, this editor, Madame Pat Weeks, has resigned and no longer in charge of the Trails. But the show must go on, meaning, now that we have bulk mailing privileges, we must show up every month or loose such privileges. Using this bulk mailing means a nice decrease in costs, so it is important to continue this service.

Now, may I introduce you to our new editor, Gail Gilbert, who will have the whole headache beginning with the June newsletter. Gail sounds like she knows a lot and is very cognizant of word processor workings, and hopefully pounding out this newsletter will be a whiz to her.

Nonetheless, this newsletter should reflect our organization which can only be represented thus if you, the members, contribute, no matter how small, to the editor. The Trails is your publication; help your editor out by contributing articles or items of interests.

In addition, the Mission Viejo City has presented us with three computers. These have been installed ,hooked up, and fully operational to our working system by Herb Abrams. Thank you Herb!

The LDS website is now available, and is being tested on line. It can be accessed, but will not be fully operational until later this spring. If you would like to give it a try, use

One website that this editor is particularly partial to is which holds lots of grass-roots help, including cemetery information, historical state maps, photos, census reports, etc.
