SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY
CALIFORNIA
GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY
ABOUT US

Our Society is located in Mission Viejo, California which is located about half way between Los Angeles and San Diego and about 10 miles inland from the coast. It is at the foot of Santiago Peak which we call Saddleback Mountain.
We have even included it in our logo and in the name of our monthly newsletter, "Saddleback Valley Trails".

We have about 300 member and about 80 to 100 show up at meetings. Meetings are held the third Saturday of each month from 10am to noon at the LDS Church Building. The Church has been kind enough to provide a great place for our meetings at no charge.
We are also fortunate to have the use of the Saddleback Room at the Mission Viejo City Hall for our annual Seminar which is held in October and for some of our Special Interest Group meetings.

We are also fortunate to have the use of a space in the Mission Viejo Library. Our Genealogy Section is located in the South end of the library where we have four computers with four printers for patron use.
Docents are on duty for most of the time when the library is open. A computer, printer and copy machine are provided for the docent's use.
Across the room from the docent desk are shelves for our book collection and a large cabinet for smaller books and manuscripts.
